Slave Market

Potentially one of the first European slave markets of the
15th century. Portuguese caravels, coming from Africa,
bring the first slaves, around the year 1444.

Walls

The walls were built in two different periods: the Old Fence,
which dates back to the 14th century, and the New Fence,
completed in the 17th century and which enlarged the area of its core.

Governors’ Castle

Of Arab origin, this castle has served various purposes.
Built in the middle of the second half of the 15th century,
it is part of the Medieval City Fence.

Santo Antonio Church
